Oviedo Cathedral and Cámara Santa

The Cathedral is the great center of the Old Town of Oviedo, with its impressive tower that points to the heavens, and in front of the square to which it gives its name.

Its origin in the 9th century was an old chapel built on the initiative of Alfonso II; which was enlarged over the centuries with Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque features.

The oldest part of the Cathedral corresponds today to the Holy Chamber, which houses relics and jewels such as the Holy Shroud, the Cross of the Angels, the Victoria Cross and the Agate Box.

You can not miss the visit to this jewel witness in its centuries of life of the Reconquest, the beginning of the Camino de Santiago and protector of the treasures of Christianity.
